Meet the Leader – Networking Event

Meet the Leader event is organized for career building and networking, where we invite some of the most successful and impressive tech women from around the world, to learn from their journey and get inspired by their stories. The first event was Meet with Tuka Al-Hanai, A MIT student who was visiting Qatar during March, 2016.  Then another event gave the chapter members a chance  to meet Norah Abokhodair, a PhD Candidate from University of Washington. This meeting happened in 2016. Also another networking meeting, which provide the ArabWIC members the privileged to meet our Role Model – Dr. Hessa Al-Jaber. Her Excellency Dr. Hessa Al Jaber is a Qatari engineer, academic and politician. She was the first-ever Minister of Information and Communications Technology in Qatar. We met her in the month of April, 2017 as a part of our periodic meet-the-leader event. In addition, ArabWIC Qatar members met with Dr. Dena Al Thani as part of our periodic Meet-The-Leader networking event on 25th May, 2017. We discussed higher studies, challenges related to UX, research on HCI, career opportunities and much more.
