Age of Innovation Competition has been organized by the University of Sharjah’s OpenUAE Research Group at the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering. Dr. Qassim Nasir and Dr. Manar Abu Talib in collaboration with the IEEE UAE Section have welcomed a number of the UAE universities’ students to showcase and present innovation projects that aims to make human life much easier by utilizing both technology and creativity. The themes covered poverty and famine, disaster management and first aid, special needs, woman safety, healthcare and illiteracy. ArabWIC UAE members have played a vital role in organizing this valuable competition.

The participating universities included the University of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi University, University of Dubai, Ajman University, the Canadian University, Manipal University, the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Al Dar University College. Their projects were evaluated by juries from governmental and private sectors including:

  1. Dubai Electricity and Water Authorization (DEWA).
  2. Emirates NBD bank.
  3. Dubai Electronic and Security Centre (DESC).
