WiDS Gaza – Women in Data Science Conference

WiDs events happened at Stanford University in the U.S. along with other 75 locations worldwide, the conference was scheduled on Friday, the 3rd of Feb. 2017.

It was a one-day conference presenting about the latest data science related research in multiple domains giving the attendees the chance to learn how leading-edge companies are using data science for success. The conference offers a great opportunity for connecting with mentors, collaborators and other specialized people in the field of data science.

One of the worldwide locations who had a WiDs conference was Beirut and they hosted their conference at the American University of Beirut.

WiDs Gaza was just a teaser event for the global conference happening around the world and it focused on spreading the world about both the Global WiDs at Stanford and WiDs Beirut at AUB, it has been hosted at the Islamic University of Gaza and it was scheduled on Wednesday, the 1st of Feb. 2017.

The event started by welcoming the attendees and giving a brief introduction about ArabWIC, after that Abdullah El Sheki Khalil gave a 20 min. Session talking about “Introduction to the Data Science”, then Rasha Abu Safieh talked about “Data Management & SAP”, followed that by Laila El Abidid’s session titled as “Data Science: rockstars of the digital age”, during the event a printed agenda was distributed among the attendees.

ArabWIC Palestine Chapter team was the main organizer for the event and it was also sponsored by UNFPA, SYFS and GGateway for Outsourcing Information Technology.
